South Acton Histories
A map showing some of the lost histories of South Acton. From the Middle Ages right up until 1859, this was a common field known as Turnham Field. After the Enclosure Act was adopted in 1859, the area was rapidly built over with terraced houses and laundries. From the 1960’s high rise flats were built and the terraced housing demolished.
