'Immigrants All: the Peopling of London’s Docklands'
Study day, Saturday 13th June 2009
The creation of the modern docks system in London attracted large numbers of people seeking employment. These were often members of immigrant communities, making the port labour force truly cosmopolitan. This study day, sponsored jointly by the Museum in Docklands and the Raphael Samuel History Centre explores these vital issues with historians who have contributed to the debates.
